New Mosque
Introduction
The New Mosque, located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, is a significant Ottoman mosque built in the 17th century. This magnificent structure, situated by the shores of the Golden Horn, is one of the most visited sites in the city due to its architectural beauty and historical significance. Construction of the mosque began in 1597, but it wasn't completed until 1665. During this period, a complex surrounding the mosque was also established.

The New Mosque is open to visitors year-round. There is no entrance fee to explore the mosque, which is accessible from early morning until evening on both weekdays and weekends. Visitors are encouraged to relax in the mosque's serene atmosphere and immerse themselves in the historical fabric of Istanbul. It also serves as a fantastic spot for photography. Being located in the heart of Istanbul, the mosque is easily reachable.
Visits may be restricted during prayer times; you may be asked to wait while prayers are in progress. Note that the mosque may close to visitors around Friday midday (Friday prayer) — plan your visit accordingly.
